Coaching Philosophy

As a coach, I aim to support the intentional development of the athlete/learner through a performance- focused, learner-centered approach. Coaching is a complex, social relationship between an athlete/learner and a coach, focused on specific outcomes. While informed by past success and failure, this relationship focuses on what comes next: our future success. Therefore, my approach to
development is holistic and transcends the performance environments constraints; sports engagement
can transfer to every facet of an athletes life. Implementing this approach requires me to plan and
develop individualized, authentic, meaningful learning experiences that contribute to the
athletes/learners; individual technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development and help them
become better learners. Being present when learning happens is an honor and a privilege.
